Multiple users can be imported by creating a comma separate values (CSV) file and uploading the file in the Users section of YesLMS.
You will need to create a CSV file that contains email addresses and names of users to import. The Import Users menu has a template that can be downloaded. It has the proper column headings that must be used. Only the first name and last name and email columns have to contain data. The other columns can remain empty by the headings in the first row must be there in the order they are in the template. Do not make any changes to the first row.
The GroupCode column can be used to place imported users in the group that has this group code.
- Select People from the left side menu and then select Users
- Select Import Users
- Upload the CSV file with user information (The template CSV can be downloaded from the example link at the top)
- Select Import
New users will receive an activation email to create a password. Existing users may also be imported if you want to add them to a group and enroll them in courses. Importing users allows you to enroll multiple users into one or more courses at once.
Importing users does not create a new account for existing users. Existing users who are imported and enrolled in courses will not lose any progress or certificates.
The import usually takes less than a minute to complete. However, this will depend on how many users are being imported.
Importing Existing Users
You can use the User Import to import existing users to make changes to their profile.
For example, if you have many users who need to have profile fields updated, you can answer them in the import CSV file.
For any fields/columns you do not want to change, ensure the cell is empty.
